Four Megatrends Impacting Risk and People Decisions

Aon’s Business Decision Maker Survey found that as risks grow more interconnected, business decision makers feel pressure to take on more responsibility to manage the challenges found within these trends — and are looking to advisors to provide actionable insight and advice.

Key Findings

The survey revealed that Trade, Technology and Workforce ranked as the top priorities (80-plus percent responded “extremely important”) while Weather lagged just behind (70 percent responded “extremely important”).

The Vital Role of Actionable Insights

Confident business decision makers are more likely to size and price risk exposures and event scenarios.

Nearly 60 percent of “very confident” decision makers have quantified the profit-and-loss of supply chain, cyber risk, and weather-related scenarios and events in the last year, compared to just 36 percent of less-confident leaders.

Weather — Overlooked Risks?

Weather — Overlooked Risk?

While the majority of business decision makers recognize that weather is a top risk only 59 percent of those surveyed have quantified the financial impact of extreme weather — compared with 72 percent carrying out the same exercise for cyber.
